Building consultants wrap up parcel firm HQ fit out

Property expert Knight Frank has completed a new South Yorkshire office HQ fit out for delivery giant Tuffnells Parcels Express.

Knight Frank Commercial’s building consultancy team has managed and overseen all the work on the company’s new Meadowhall Business Park headquarters.

The Sheffield-based team undertook the project to manage the complete fit-out of the former Sheffield City Council offices on Carbrook Hall Road, which was bought by developers ARBA Group last year and has undergone a multi-million pound refurbishment programme.

Knight Frank partner Daniel Green said: “We assisted with the Tuffnells project from inception through to completion including the property search and landlord negotiations. Landlord negotiations included agreeing the landlords base build works, monitoring the landlords works on the tenants behalf and agreeing schedules of condition. We also advised on lease matters and negotiated with the landlords.

“We also project managed the tenants fit out undertaking space planning duties, completing full feasibility reports of the new building, preparing specifications, budget planning, obtaining tenders, agreeing costs, appointing Halifax contractors Project:ff&e and administering the building contact and monitoring the works on site on behalf of Tuffnells. We wish Tufffnells all the best in their new home.”

Tuffnells Parcels Express signed terms in the summer to occupy an entire 15,000 sq ft office block at the popular Meadowhall Business Park.

They will occupy both floors of Block One of the 70,000 sq ft park joining existing tenants including NG Bailey, Alpharooms, Auburn Ainsley, Chique Photography, KitchenEx and Preventx Ltd.

As part of Connect Group, Tuffnells Parcels Express boasts more shipments a year than the population of Australia, a new European service and a range of investments across the business, to make it a growing presence in the B2B market.

James Church, Group Property & Facilities Manager for Connect Group plc, said: “The relocation to this new working environment is a step-change improvement from the old site in Shepcote Lane and provides our colleagues with the facilities and open plan space to work more collaboratively, and is an important step in the development of our business. We are extremely pleased with the efforts of the Knight Frank team and the results that have been delivered by contractors Project:ff&e.

“Identifying the correct location and finding a space which we could tailor to a high specification finish were key considerations in our search for a new headquarters and Meadowhall Business park matched our requirements perfectly.”

Knight Frank has overseen a number of relocation projects for major Sheffield firms including OCLC, HLW Keeble Hawson and Westco.
